PLANTING THE CHURCH IN NORTH INDIA

Off a dusty road in the State of Chattisgarh India near the Kings mango grove, our Global Advance team convened 341 pastors and leaders, both men and women, for training. These indigenous leaders from multiple states traveled for days to receive training and encouragement for church planting and raising up modern day Esthers. Global Advance trains women around the world to become catalysts for God’s purposes in their nations. Through intentional leader training, and by providing foundational, Biblical discipleship resources, teams of dedicated and godly believers teach women of all ages in the areas of leadership, business, ministry and home life. The Esther Initiative seeks to instill the vision, strategy, and resources necessary to empower women to effectively have an impact on their generation through their wisdom, influence, and giftedness. Global Advance training events are catalysts for church planting, discipleship and indigenous transformational efforts. For these pastors and leaders who often minister where their work and lives are in danger, times like these bring great hope and refreshing.

During these days together we meet many fearless leaders who boldly share the love of God in India. We met Dinu, a female leader who dreams of raising up an army of women across India who will boldly declare Jesus in the villages and cities. We met Tejbin who, for the past 18 years, has been planting churches and now oversees 19,000 house churches. The courage of these giants of the faith deserve our prayers and need the training they received. As a direct result of this 3 day training with our Global Advance Church Plant materials, 150 master trainers committed to train 13,252 church planters over the next 9 months.

In these parts of the world, the climb out of poverty can be a slippery slope. For many of these leaders and pastors, the most basic daily standards that we have come to expect elude their grasp. Many don't have food to eat every day, and for some, their home is either a tarp stretched between trees, or they live in a shack with multiple families. During our training, several of these pastors received word that someone they sheltered with had died while they were away. If they do manage to avoid illness caused by poor nutrition, they are often beaten and persecuted for their faith in Christ. Silver and gold they have not, but what they do have they freely give. In spite of these conditions, they fearlessly preach the Gospel and plant the church of Jesus Christ.

As we continue to press into the work before us in the SAARC region, our partnerships with these leaders is mission critical to fulfilling the Great Commission. Please partner with us at Global Advance in this work of training and equipping global leaders. Together, with your help, we will place vision in their hearts and tools in their hands for advancing the Kingdom of God.
