Changing Times.... Steadfast God!

Mark 13:8-11

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains. 9 “But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them. 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. 11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

The world is quickly becoming a more and more cumbersome place not only to do business, but to do ministry.   At every turn, the enemy, through deceived people are trying to press back against the proclamation of the Gospel.   Things that were once quite simple have become a multi-step process with many political “hands in the pie”.

I spoke to Ken Thursday morning and he asked for 3 areas of specific prayer and I’ve added 2 others.  Below these 5 items is an email just received from Ken via Amy Burch.   We need to keep these items in vigilant prayer throughout the year and in reality for the long haul as we continue to press back darkness by bringing His Light!

Ken

•       Communications – in general, for our team with our partners

•       Health for our GA team, International Coordinators and our Ambassadors – lots of attacks from the enemy right now

•       Finances – we are having serious issues getting funds into some countries with unstable financial infrastructures

John

·      Protection – Many countries are not only restrictive in Christianity, they are openly hostile.

·      Wisdom, awareness, preparation as we go into those “less than friendly” places

Prayer warriors, Ken asked me to send you an update on the trip he is taking next week. It will be very intense and needs some major prayer coverage, please. He also has some specific requests at the bottom of this message.

The team leaves Friday, March 3 to travel with a team to Jagdalpur, India for a Church Plant and Esther multi-initiative conference March 7-9. When they arrive in Raipur, India, they will need to travel 7 hours by car to the city of Jagdalpur. Pastor Ken has been told by our International Coordinator that the team needs to wear hats while they travel. He fears being seen transporting ‘white’ people into this very volatile area. It is so rural, the team will need to lodge at the conference center so that they are not seen traveling back and forth to a hotel, raising suspicion. The conference attendees (expected 350 men and 350 women) will be seated on the floor and the speakers will literally walk in between them teaching and ministering.

On the 9th, Pastor Ken and Steve Chandler will leave the rest of the team there (they return on the 10th) to drive 7 hours back to Raipur to fly to Delhi and connect with Joel Tiemeyer. They will leave on Mar. 10 to fly to Paro, Bhutan. Bhutan is a highly-restricted access country. They only issue 10,000 tourist visas per year. Flying into the only city in the country accepting international flights, they will be received by a government approved Tour Operator, who processed their travel visas, and will accompany them for another 7 hour drive thru the country, on Mar. 11, down to Gelephu where our International Coordinator lives.  They will lodge there for the night then continue across the border back into Northern India on the 12th. The Bhutan Frontline Pastors conference will be March 13-15 and they return on the 16th. The pastors in Bhutan are so afraid to convene in Bhutan they are holding the conference across the border in India. Pastor Ken feels very strongly that the team needs to arrive in Bhutan, “boots on the ground”, to pray and claim Bhutan for Christ.

Lots of travel logistics needing prayer coverage. Travel safety, stamina, physical protection, protection for the conference attendees in both locations, etc.
