Benin Trip Info

Event City: Parakou

Dates: February 11-15, 2019

Projected Number Trained: 200

Total Training Initiative Cost: $7,000

Foundation for Future Impact: With a population just below ten million, Benin is hidden in the shadows of its neighbor Nigeria, one of the most populous nations on earth. Although the democracy is considered stable, the government, like many in Africa, is permeated with corruption. One-third of the population lives in poverty, and barely one-third is literate. One of the world’s 20 least developed nations, Benin struggles to provide economic opportunities for its citizens. Many parents sell their children as slaves, mostly to the neighboring nation of Nigeria, and most of these precious children will never again see home. There are 50,000 children trafficked out of Benin each year.  Black market trading and smuggling are widespread as well. This nation has one of the highest rates of syncretism, specifically combining Christianity, animism, and Voodoo. The need for trained pastors is high in order to disciple the growing number of Christians. This strategic church planting effort will provide vital training and hope in this dark nation. Each year Global Advance hosts and sponsors pastors conferences, roundtables, and other training initiatives for indigenous pastors around the world. Over 90% of pastors in developing nations will never have the chance to attend seminary or formal Bible training. Many are in desperate need of encouragement. These training events are catalysts for church planting, discipleship, and indigenous transformational efforts. Global Advance provides national pastors and church leaders with a vision in their hearts and tools in their hands for the advance of the gospel worldwide.

Pakistan Trip Info

Event City: Karachi

Dates: February 18-19, 2019

Projected Number Trained: 200

Total Training Initiative Cost: $9,000

Foundation for Future Impact: As a 96% Muslim-saturated nation, the culture in Pakistan is becoming increasingly influenced by radical Islamic militants such as the Taliban and the Islamic State. This fundamentalist Islamic rule has contributed to escalating violence, widespread corruption, and the persecution of Christians. Sadly, Pakistan is known for the abduction of over 700 Christian girls per year, who are abused and then forced to marry Muslim men and convert to Islam. In the face of Islamic persecution and Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws, those who seek to evangelize are targeted by radical Islamic groups rooted in Pakistan. Despite the persecution these leaders live with every day, these Pakistani leaders are committed to church planting in their nation. Global Advance, in strategic partnership with established frontline leaders, is committed to piercing the darkness in order to advance the gospel in Pakistan through our SAARC leadership training initiative. With over 350 tribal groups in the Sindh Province of Pakistan who have never heard the gospel, there is an alarming need to train pastors and plant churches in this region. In collaboration with our Alpha Relief well project in Pakistan, the timing and location of this training event is very strategic. This training event will provide vital equipping and hope to the shepherds of this dark nation. With your partnership, we can push back the darkness of Islam, and strengthen the church in Pakistan.

Rwanda Trip Info

Event City: Kigali

Dates: November 8-10, 2019

Projected Number Trained: 500

Total Training Initiative Cost: $10,000

Foundation for Future Impact: Landlocked in East Africa, Rwanda is most known for the horrific genocide that took the lives of 800,000 people. It remains a deeply wounded nation as attaining national stability in the wake of war and genocide has proven difficult. Yet, education, health, and incomes have seen improvement. Though it is one of Africa’s smallest nations, it now has one of its fastest-growing economies. This nation that predominantly claims Christianity (89%) allowed and even perpetrated the massacre of 1994. The atrocities of genocide and war have caused some to turn from their faith. Some have turned to Islam, while others have been ensnared by several false gospels (prosperity theology, legalism and syncretism). Suffering has also opened the door for the global Church to express God’s love. This event will serve as a launching point to train dozens of women who are leaders in their churches in such a way that they will have an impact in making their churches more effective in winning the lost and discipling new believers. Through this event, the Esther Initiative will seek to empower women with truth from God’s Word through teaching and foundational Biblical resources. It will encourage women to retain God’s instruction through on-going discipleship modeling, small group accountability, and will mobilize women to reflect God’s character to a lost through intentional leadership training.

Taiwan Trip Info

Event City: Taipei

Dates: June 16-19, 2019

Projected Number Trained: 200

Total Training Initiative Cost: $8,000

Foundation for Future Impact: Taiwan, is an island of 24 million people about 160 km off the coast of China. While the government of Taiwan has been democratized over the years, the possibility of Taiwan becoming a truly separate state from China has heightened mainland Chinese military and diplomatic pressure on the Islanders. Despite this tension, Taiwan has survived politically, and there has been significant economic growth. The principal city, Taipei, with a population of 2.9 million, is the political, economic and financial center of Taiwan. It has a thriving entertainment scene with commercial and economic growth; it has become a modern international metropolis. The majority of the population follows a unique blend of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Christian growth has been slow with an estimated 6% of the Islanders claiming to follow Christ. Churches often find themselves among those lacking resources and solid leadership. As a result, local Christian marketplace leaders are in a strong position to have gospel influence, not only among unbelievers in the workplace and in their communities but also as an economic foundation and source of needed leadership and encouragement for the local church. Marketplace training events connect established, godly businesspeople with frontline entrepreneurial leaders to instill biblical leadership and business acumen. These Ambassadors connect key marketplace leaders with each other and their churches empowering them to exponentially increase their influence for the advance of the gospel.
