A NEW ERA IN MISSIONS FOR ASIA
At a recent national team training, one of our leaders from India shared, “I am so glad to be part of this coalition to share our resources, manpower, and strategic insights to achieve multiplied results. This is something I would have never accomplished alone.”
Our leaders in South Asia are now convinced that the traditional way of doing ministry alone will no longer work. With all due respect to our individual sincerity and hard work, we were literally burning the candle at both ends, struggling to achieve our vision of completing the Great Commission in our lifetimes. Instead, Global Advance has enabled our leaders in South Asia to think radically by empowering us to step out of our comfort zones to create a kingdom coalition.
In 2019, Global Advance is accomplishing much through the training and resourcing of frontline leaders in South Asia. But this year our commitment goes another step further as we deepen the training and relational equity of our South Asia national teams. We have already held national team training events in Bhutan, Nepal, India, and Pakistan. During the next few months, we will train the national teams of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
At these national team training events, the Global Advance South Asia vision, mission, and regional strategy are revisited, as well as the strategy for each nation represented. We are delighted to observe that we are well on our way to reaching our common goal of planting 15,000 churches among the unreached people groups of Asia. We spend considerable time identifying potential insecurities to working together as a coalition and learn biblical principles to grow from insecurities to trust. This training also involves sharpening our strategies and logistics to ensure that our conferences and training events are effective and conducted with the utmost excellence.
As a result of our collaborative efforts, we can keep pace with the rapid evangelization, church planting, and church growth that is happening across our region. We are achieving greater accountability and stewardship. We are growing in our ability to send high-quality leaders to places where Western leaders cannot go. Together, we are accomplishing in such a short period of time what once took us several decades to achieve.
What we are witnessing though this kingdom coalition is something that has never been done in the history of the Church in South Asia. Indeed, the Lord is building His Church, and no power can stop its advance. We are witnessing the dawn of a new era in missions for Asia.
