The South Asian nation of Bangladesh - home to an astounding 180 million people - boasts the most dense population in the world. The capital city of Dhaka alone houses a population equal to the entire state of Texas! Surrounded by gripping poverty and a population that is 99% Muslim, the physical and spiritual needs are so great that pastors often feel isolated and overwhelmed in their work.

Global Advance has been strategically partnering with high capacity indigenous leaders in Bangladesh to train church planters from all five national regions. Last month we received this thrilling report:

"Two of our church planters have worked faithfully in a village in the north part of Bangladesh where there are no churches. Our brothers invested their time and energy day and night to share the love of Jesus and His Good News with them. At the beginning they rejected them, but through their prayer walks and faithful, compassionate attitudes God began opening doors. Slowly these villagers became their friends and began asking, 'Why are you people so loving? How can you love us when we hate you?' Our brothers took the opportunity to share the great love of Jesus and His sacrifice for our sin on the cross. God started to work in their hearts. God is so good and faithful. As a result, on Monday, January 21, 113 new believers were baptized openly in front of a large crowd. 230 children are now regularly learning from the Bible. The villagers even donated land for a church!"

Recognizing an immediate need, Global Advance quickly worked to put God's Word into the hands of each one of these new believers. Jesus promised to build his Church, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). The true discipleship of every nation will happen in local churches. As the national team of leaders in Bangladesh is empowered in compassion ministry, trained and resourced, and equipped with God's Word, they are reaching across their nation to plant churches in every province. Thank you for your partnership that helps make this possible!
